At Capital Business Systems, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously. We’ve outlined specific green office initiatives and make sure we do all we can to meet or exceed them. Read on to learn our three-way approach to environmental sustainability.
1. We Reduce
Reducing energy and fuel consumption across our organization is just the beginning of our green office initiatives. Here are a few of the changes we’ve made to bring about this goal:
- We’ve moved into new energy-efficient offices. As a result of this change, we’ve made a significant reduction in the electricity we use to conduct our daily operations.
- We’re replacing our vehicle fleet. As far back as 2010, we’ve made it a goal to drive more energy efficient vehicles. By replacing our existing fleet, we’re reducing our use of oil and our carbon emissions, one vehicle at a time.
- We have a fuel economy goal of 31 mpg. It may be a lofty ambition, but we’ve made great strides toward 31 mpg fleet-wide.
2. We Reuse
Shipping is an integral part of our daily operations. While we could use new shipping containers, our green office initiatives include a preference to reuse boxes and packing materials as often as possible.
3. We Recycle
Have you heard that a toner cartridge can take 450 years to decompose? With nearly 10 million cartridges being tossed into landfills every year, it’s clear we need to take matters in hand. At Capital Business Systems, our green office initiatives include a cartridge recycling program, and we do what we can to help our customers do the same. And when a Capital Business System shipment arrives at your location, you can be assured that the packaging is made from recycled components.
