This may seem like a no-brainer, but not every employee will consider it worth the extra moment of time. If you encourage your employees to take that extra initiative while also explaining the why behind it, you’ll save money in the long run. It’s important to encourage your employees, because, without buy-in, no one is going to save anything.
Before utilizing ink or paper by copying or printing, encourage your employees to think twice. Could they simply email everyone a copy of the five pages they were about to print for a group of 10? Luckily, in the office world, we’re living in today, the majority of people bring their laptops or mobile devices to meetings, meaning they don’t need and likely won’t keep a hard copy if they can access it on their computer or device.
In some companies, each individual employee has their own desktop printer, perhaps even a fax machine and scanner. Keeping up with consumables and repairs for all of these machines is not only time-consuming but costly and inefficient. If you centralize all of your print related needs with a multifunctional printer, you’ll have a whole lot less to worry about.
